Sale at Toronto's Direct Energy Center, Exhibition
Place to see the works of many talented artisans,

Valerie Page will exhibiting her Quilts and Quilted Tea
Cosies from Nov 25 to Dec 5th.
The colourful PageQuilts Tea Cosies
fit large and small tea pot sizes, and are crafted with dual
insulating layers to keep your favourite blend of tea hot for
3 hours.
A selection of Hand Made Quilts for the
home, cottage and loved one in your life will be for sale,
along with stunning wall hangings like the Fibonacci Quilt.
Everything that Valerie Page will showcase at her booth
(Y-47 ) is made by
her, by hand, from individual strips, squares or triangles of
fabric. In her studio space Valerie selects different fabrics
from her travels to New York or Paris, from a Japanese Kimono
and even vintage prints she collected in the 1970's. With a
keen eye for harmony, she composes the blend of colours,
fabric patterns and light to create one of a kind quilted
pieces. All of which are made in Valerie's studio in the
Leslieville District of Toronto.
Says Valerie, "quilts for me are the perfect
method of supplying endless exercises in form, colour and
texture." Whether we live with quilts on a living room wall,
drape them across a baby's crib or enjoy the colours over a
pot of tea with your closest friends, modern quilts are more
than the sum of their fabrics.
When I join all these different fabrics together I like to
think I have created something that celebrates the warmth and
vibrancy of life.

2009 One
of a Kind Christmas Show 2009
With snow flurries on the doorstep, thoughts quickly turn
to lights in the trees and the colourful decorations of the
Holiday season. Most of all, the holidays remind us to take
some time out to spend with family and friends. While 2009 has
been an especially challenging year for everyone, it's good to
know that popcorn can still be threaded to trim a tree,
gingerbread cookies can still be baked, and empty cardboard
boxes are always way more fun to a child's imagination than
anything inside.

For 10 days starting November 26th 2009,
PageQuilts set up shop at the One of
a Kind Christmas show held at the Direct Energy
Center (Google Map location here). Valerie showcased new
Quilts and and a wonderful assortment of

One Of A Kind Christmas Show and Sale 2007 Visit
PageQuilts & Slip Under the Covers
PageQuilts is pleased to announce its participation in the One of A Kind Christmas Show, kicking off this November 22nd
and running til December 2nd, 2007.
The One of
A Kind Christmas Show and Sale is
held in Toronto at the Direct Energy Center, Exhibition
Place where over 600 talented artisans and designers from
across Canada will gather.
PageQuilts is located at Booth
#X22 for all ten days of this high calibre arts
exhibition. Artist Valerie Page, of PageQuilts.com, will be showing a new collection of her bespoke bed quilts, stunning wall hangings, fibonacci inspired designs, baby quilts for tykes, and designer
pillows for a couch near you!
This is your last chance to feel the fabrics, scrutinize
the stitching, fluff the pillow, test wrap a baby Quilt, or see a handmade
right-in-the-Leslieville-area-of-Toronto quilt in person. In addition to her colourful bespoke quilts, Valerie will be introducing a new line of wall hangings to bring a little warmth
into your life on those gloomy grey winter days.
Says Valerie, "quilt season begins when the first
crimson leaf hits the ground, and a chill in the air keeps you under the covers
a little longer each morning. Whether you hang a quilt on the wall to appreciate
it's colour and texture, or snug baby in for the night with a quilt, it's a very
intimate relationship. Every quilt I make is different, a vignette of a spring garden, a memory of old bricks and windows from King St., or an ode to
the warmth and vibrancy of life."
Quilt Season Begins Under the Covers
Valerie's hand made quilts are conceived and
created in her Leslieville area studio in the East end of Toronto.
Leslieville is a vibrant neighbourhood anchored in a flourishing arts
scene, and killer coffee spot called Mercury. Once you see a Valerie Page
quilt in person, you fully understand the alluring vibrancy they
possess. Such bespoke quilts offer respite from the dull mass
produced garments sold by big box
retailers from overseas factories.

exhibition floor.
In addition to her colourfully modern country chic
handmade quilts, Valerie will be introducing a new line of Baby Quilts, in
bright colours and delicate patterns, and a very limited series
of pillows in her trademark palate of colours. PageQuilts will have quilts of all sizes and colours on display; from peaceful and strong, meditative and nurturing, to vivid and compelling.
Says Valerie, "quilts for me are the
perfect method of supplying endless exercises in form, colour
and texture."
Whether displaying one of Valerie's
quilts on a condo wall, or putting it to use on the bed or in baby's crib,
her quilted artwork celebrates the vibrancy of life. Colour and form; the tools
of re-invention, are well used to re-interpret how fabrics come together and
coexist in relation to their surroundings. Valerie's quilts do this like no
other.
Valerie's quilts challenge the
traditional expectations of her art form, and bring with them
an alluring vibrancy that is easy to appreciate in a world
dulled by uniformity and many shades of beige.
It' is not surprising then, that
the editor's of Canadian Home & Country magazine have asked Valerie to
showcase her quilted artwork in this years' model home - always the
hallmark in trend setting interior design and decorating ideas.
Benefiting the
Canadian Cancer Society in support of breast cancer research,
Valerie will be donating a one of kind handmade quilt
specifically for this worthy cause, which will go up on the
auction block during the opening night Gala festivities. T
he Canadian Home & Country Show Gala takes place Thursday October 26th, from 6:30-10PM, and tickets are available here, while they last. Don't miss it!
The Canadian Home & Country Show is one of Canada's largest design and
decorating shows, held every year in the historical Automotive Building at
Exhibition Place Toronto. An estimated 35,000 visitors will attend the
exhibition over four days, October 26-29 2006. You are invited to visit
this once-a-year event and explore a wonderfully varied selection of decorating
ideas, antique, handcrafted objects, fine foods and fine furniture.
Most of all, you will see first hand how Valerie's quilted artworks prove
